Today, on September 29, the International Kurash Association held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. The meeting was attended by the President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Sports of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Maulvi Ahmadullah Wasiq, and senior representatives of sports of Afghanistan.
The topics of big changes in the country in the development of sports, improving welfare and security in the country were revealed at the meeting. Afterwards, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the side of Afghanistan recognizes all existing International sports organizations, such as the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, Afghanistan will be glad to receive any assistance from international organizations to restore and improve the level of sports in its country by building new sports facilities, new sections and restoring all existing ones.
To which Mr. Farman remarked that the International Kurash Association and he personally are committed to promoting the development of sports in the country and to change the people’s misconception that it is unsafe here. And from the moment he arrived here, he feels very comfortable, he is very pleased with the hospitality, and he feels completely safe. So in order to improve the image of the state, Mr. Haider proposed to hold an international Kurash competition or the Asian Championship in the near future.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the International Kurash Association, the Head of the Administration of the International Kurash Association Mansur Mirzaev and the Advisor of the International Kurash Association on strategic development of national federations Elyor Mirzaev.
