Today, visitors to the Alau Ice Palace witnessed the true mastery of Kurash and Mas-Wrestling masters.
In total, on the first day of the Kurash competition in the program of the 5th World Nomad Games, competitions were held in 4 weight categories.
In the weight categories: -81 kg, + 100 kg for male, and -70 and -87 kg for female. 101 athletes from 27 countries tried their skills.
This time, traditions have also changed. Young athletes were also able to leave experienced eminent champions behind.

Even in the male’s competition in the -81 kg weight category, the current World champion Dayanch Omirov lost in the final to the representative of the Motherland of Kurash Arslan Tadjibaev. Silver medalist of the World Championship Bekadil Shaimerdenov limited himself to a bronze medal.
Unexpected results were also noted in the +100 kg weight category. For the first time in this weight category, famous athletes failed to reach even the semi-finals.
Kyrgyzstani Bekbolot Toktogonov beat the representative of the tournament hosts Marat Baikamurov in the final and won the gold medal.
Unexpected results were also observed in female’s competitions.
World and Asian champion in the -87 kg weight category, winner of the International tournament World Series Pro Pokizakhon Kamoliddinova lost to the representative of the tournament hosts Albina Bakhiyeva in the final with a small advantage.
Tomorrow, Kurash will complete its program. Male will try their skills in 3 weight categories, and female will come to the Gilam in 1 weight category.
