Kurash is my destiny!
I got acquainted with Kurash in 1999 through a friend who was the President of the Iranian Judo Federation. I officially came to Kurash in 2000. I have been practising Kurash for 25 years. My life, goals, daily work plans and even dreams intertwine with Kurash. Kurash is a big part of my life. I have lived in Uzbekistan for the past few years because of Kurash. Another thing is that I came to Kurash at a zero level. Today, I work as the General Secretary of the IKA. For me, this is a great trust from the community of Kurash with a lot of responsibility.
During my career, I worked as a Technical Director in Busan in 2002, Qatar (Doha) in 2006, at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, and at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022. This contributed to my personal development as a real school of experience. In addition, I am glad that I have participated in organising 15 World Championships, 6 Junior World Championships, and more than 15 Continental Championships.
Over the past 25 years, we have witnessed Kurash’s rapid development, reaching new heights.
I hope that with the hard work of the IKA in the International arena, we will become members of the Olympic family. Going to the Olympic Games is not a task for one person, only the best teams can achieve this.
I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for his endless support of our beloved Kurash.
Moreover, I would like to express my gratitude to the Minister of Sports, the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan and the International Kurash Institute, who help and cooperate with us.
I sincerely congratulate all national federations, referees, athletes, the Kurash community and all members of the World Kurash Family on the Kurash Day.
Happy holiday to all of us.
Mohammad Reza Nassiri
General Secretary of the IKA
