September 6 is an important and historic date for members of the World Kurash Family.
The International Kurash Association’s foundation day and the recognition of Kurash as an International sport.
This day is widely celebrated annually by National Kurash Federations, Kurash athletes, referees and the world Kurash community.
This year the International Kurash Association celebrates its 26th anniversary.
26 years is the age of maturity, a period of new milestones and new achievements!
Kurash embodies three and a half thousand years of history, rich traditions passed down from ancestors to young generation, secrets of mastery implemented in the rules of modern Kurash.
Today, Kurash has taken a place in the hearts of millions of fans from Europe to Africa, from South America to the countries where the first dawn is greeted.
These achievements were celebrated today at the Headquarters of the International Kurash Association in Tashkent.
World Kurash Day and the 26th anniversary of the IKA were widely celebrated. It was attended by government and public figures, embassies of foreign countries in Uzbekistan, the International Kurash Association, heads of national Kurash federations, world Kurash champions and media representatives.
The festive program was opened with a congratulatory speech by the President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman and the Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shakhrulla Makhmudov.
In his speech, the IKA President expressed sincere gratitude to all people who contributed to the development and popularization of Kurash.
After that, a video about the activities of the International Kurash Association was shown.
After that, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported that the Vice-President of the International Kurash Association Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, the General Secretary of the IKA Mohammad Reza Nassiri and a group of athletes were awarded the “Excellent Sportsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan” awards.
The awards were solemnly presented by the Deputy Minister of Sports Shakhrulla Makhmudov.
During the event, certificates of gratitude were also presented to permanent partners of the International Kurash Association.
Vice President of IKA, Professor Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja, President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia Komil Ruziev, General Secretary of IKA Mohammad Reza Nasirili thanked the embassies, travel companies, hotels, and media representatives.
The Kurash festival was accompanied by songs and dances. Sports and art in harmony gave everyone a festive mood.
Congratulations from the participants of the festive program are planned to be presented on September 6.
