Today in Rome, Italy, at the Olympic Center of Rome, a press conference was held at the Rome Olympic Center dedicated to the big tournament that will be held in the heart of Italy.
At the conference, headed by IKA Secretary General Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Vice President Merabi Illiadis, IKA Head of Administration Mansur Mirzaev, and from the Italian side Dr.Fabio Caiazzone, Dr. Massimo Mattioli and Mr. Michele Cioffi, issues of high Kurash standards, and organization of seminars that will be held according to the program plan for tomorrow’s competition day were discussed. The Organizing Committee reported on the completed work and readiness to hold this prestigious competition at the highest level.
We would like to note that for the first time in history, the Kurash will be organized in such a historic place.
Secretary General Mohammad Reza Nassiri In his speech, thanked the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for his contribution and support in organizing this annual Kurash festival in Europe. And that this is a great opportunity to bring all Kurash fans together, as well as a great opportunity to win valuable prizes for athletes. Mr. Nassiri also thanked the President of the EKC for his hard work in organizing this competition as well as in organizing the last Continental European Championship, which was held this year in Turkey.
IKA Vice President Merabi Illiadis noted in his speech that his goals are to create greater unity in the European Kurash and bring “fresh blood” to the Kurash so that our sport becomes even stronger.
According to the report of the organizing committee, 12 participating teams have already been registered. It was also noted that due to the hot weather, the preliminary stage will begin at 19:00 local time.
Mr. Fabio noted that the famous stars of the country will delight the guests with their program on this festival.
At the end of the competition day, all participants will have a large festive banquet with Uzbek national food, where the main dish will be the famous Uzbek “Plov”.
