The Congress of the Asia-Oceania Kurash Confederation was held today in the conference hall of the Olympic Hotel in Tehran.
Representatives of about 20 national federations, members of the Confederation Directing Committees and leaders of the International Kurash Association participated in the Congress.
The issue of accepting the Maldivian Kurash Federation as a member of the Asian Kurash Confederation, which was on the agenda of the Congress, was considered.
We have good news – said President of the Asian Kurash Confederation Komil Ruziev. A few months ago, the Maldivian Kurash Federation was established. Currently, IKA Technical Director Mr. Ravi Kapoor is cooperating with the Maldivian Kurash Federation.
Maldivian Kurash athletes also participated in the South Asian Championship held in April.
We believe that Maldivian Kurash athletes will take part in continental and world championships in the future, said the President of KCA.
Congress participants voted in favor of accepting the Maldivian Kurash Federation as a member of the Asian Kurash Confederation.
