A few weeks ago, we reported that Mr. Muammer Maden was elected President of the Turkish Kurash Federation.
With the initiative of the new head of Turkish Kurash and the support of the country’s sport ministry, the national Kurash championship was held in the city of Karaman, Turkey.
220 athletes from 19 regions of Turkey competed in the championship held at the Kazim Karabekir sports complex.
Sport officials of the country, state and public figures, coaches and media representatives took part in the opening ceremony of the championship.
Mustafa Karadeniz, the head of the Youth and Sports Department of the city of Karaman, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the championship, acknowledged that they are happy to host such a prestigious competition.
Karadeniz, who mentioned the high interest in the championship, wished success to participating athletes, coaches and referees.
After that, the President of the Federation, Muammar Maden, expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to the organization of the championship.
Medals and diplomas were presented to the winners at the end of the competitions, which were of great interest to sport fans. Now they will participate in the European Championship hosted by the city of Istanbul as part of the Turkish national team.
