11th Of March – IKA held a meeting regarding the official WSP Weight Categories, and it was decided to increase the weight categories of WSP, which was 7 in 2023 to 10 weight categories in 2024 (6 Men and 4 Women):
Men: -66, -73, -81, -90, -100, +100 kg
Women: -52, -63, -78, +78 kg
Based on the studies and statistics of the WSP in 2023, a different system will be implemented in the 2024 WSP. The main change is that there will be no more WSP qualification with continental championships.
The IKA Ranking system will be used to determine the qualifiers for WSP and a detailed Presentation will be made via Zoom on 11 May 2024 to all participants worldwide.
Based on the above, World Series Pro OC will use the IKA Ranking List to invite people to the Finals in Uzbekistan on 19th Oct.2024, where the grand Prize Money will be awarded. The WSP Organising Committee will cover all tickets and expenses for the people who have been selected.
The general idea of the ranking is that the gold medallist in the weight categories at all the Continental championships and other participants will be from the IKA ranking system. Details will be revealed on 11 May 2024.
All competitions before the ranking announcement date (which are in the ranking) will have their results implemented in the chosen weight categories only.
