From March 7th to 9th, 2024, Afghanistan hosted the prestigious state championships(2nd Esteghlal ) in Baghlan province. The Velayat Stadium was filled with over 150 Kurash players, both Seniors and Juniors, making it a grand event in the Kurash community. Over two days, a refereeing seminar and a National C exam were conducted, with 15 National referees showcasing their skills.
The International Kurash Institute (IKI) played a crucial role in the success of the event, providing the necessary PowerPoint for the refereeing seminar and demonstrating their commitment to the development of Kurash.
Mr. Sediqullah Nemat, IKA International Referee, was the expert for this course. Recently, Afghanistan Kurash Federation has become very active under the leadership of Mr Zia Dashti, and they have confirmed their presence at the upcoming Prize of the President of Uzbekistan Tournament in Iran in the month of April.
