Today, 24 February, at the Rome Times Hotel in Rome (Italy), the International Kurash Association met with representatives of the Italian Kurash Academia regarding the organisation of the Presidential Tournament to be held on 24 July 2024.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Khodjiniyazov Ziyoviddin, IKA Vice President for International collaboration and Games, Mr. Reza Nassiri, IKA Secretary General, Mr. Kadirov Bakhtiyor, Deputy Chairman of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, and from the Italian side Dr.Fabio Caiazzone, Dr. Massimo Mattioli and Mr. Michele Cioffi.
At the meeting, Mr. Khodjiniyazov explained the importance of the tournament and its significance in the development and popularisation of Kurash on the world stage.
The representatives suggested that organisational issues should be divided into stages for effective resolution. Such issues as obtaining visas for all athletes of national federations of the world, possible stadium locations and other technical aspects of the tournament organization were discussed.
Additionally, the Memorandum of understanding between the National federation of Uzbekistan and Italian Kurash Academia agreed to be signed. Yet, parties agreed to create special working groups to work on organizational issues to ensure the high level organization of the upcoming tournament .
