Another prestigious event on the International Kurash Association’s 2024 calendar is the World Nomad Games.
Great preparations are being done to organize these ethno-games, which will be hosted by the city of Astana, Kazakhstan, based on a unique style, ancient decorations and modern sports standards.
The games will start on September 8th and end on September 14th.
The main idea of the games, which are organized on the basis of 20 international and ethnic sports, is aimed at promoting ethno-cultural movement as a heritage of human civilization.
Kurash has been included in the World Nomad Games Program as an official sport since 2018.
Kurash competitions will be held in 5 weight categories in Astana.
Male compete in -66kg, -81kg, open and female compete in -57kg, -70kg weight categories.
Kurash competitions are scheduled to be held at the “Alau” ice palace.
This sports complex is one of the largest complexes in the world for skating.
Building of the “Alau” which was started in 2007 and finished in 2011 can accommodate up to 7500 people.
