Social project
There are probably few people who do not know Mr. Johari or Kurash Jambi on social media. Reasonably, we chose Mr. Johari as the first hero of our Kurash social project. For several years, we have all known and seen his work, he has been leading the Kurash federation of Jambi region. We present to you our conversation about his life, activities, dreams and goals.
I am a soldier. I still serve in the Indonesian police. I have been interested in this field since I was young. To become a police officer, it is necessary to study well and be physically strong.
The same thing happened to me. To achieve my goal, I practiced national martial arts. I even became a champion in several sports.
Kurash is a new sport for me. Kurash entered my life in 2021. The President of the Indonesian Kurash Federation, our mentor, General Hafil Fudin, entrusted the Jambi Region Kurash Federation to me.
Frankly, it was difficult at first. I had plans on how to start and how to work. However, the amount of work I had to accomplish seemed unsatisfactory due to results I was expecting.
My wife’s Mrs. Dewi Susilawati’s family as well as my family members support have been very helpful. Our conversations with them in the Kurash hall, at home, even when we ate the topic was mostly about Kurash (laughs).
In 2022, he organized a major international Kurash seminar in Jambi. Mr. Vahid, an expert of the International Kurash Institute, provided us with the knowledge and experience that was very important and necessary for us.
By 2023, Jambi Kurash Federation will have about 100 athletes training in the Kurash hall.
You know, I want to mention one thing in particular, we provide our students with free training. No child pays for Kurash. On the contrary, we will present various gifts to keep them interested and to come to Kurash tomorrow. We also arrange trips for them.
Our goal is to make Kurash one of the most popular sports in Jambi and to serve its socialization.
Until today, Kurash has penetrated all schools from Jambi. About 5 Kurash clubs were established. I take part in Kurash lessons. It is also pleasant for me to teach children about our ancient and beautiful Kurash.
Currently, Jambi University students are also studying Kurash.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Indonesian Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee and the Indonesian Kurash Federation, who have always supported the federation.
I would like to say special thanks to ARIAL ADHI PUTRA, Head of Education Department in Jambi, who contributed a lot to the popularization of Kurash in schools in Jambi.
We have big plans and goals for 2024. There is still much work to be done by our federation.
We want the representatives of the World Kurash family to know about the things that have been done and are being done. This is not bragging. We want to share our joy.
For this purpose, we have opened accounts and pages on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and other social networks under the name of Jambi Kurash.
Every day we will upload there the work done on Kurash.
It was through social networks that we made many friends in the Kurash community. We learned from their experiences. We are becoming aware of the competitions and events held by IKA.
I want Athletes from Jambi to win medals in World and continental championships. To achieve this, we are using all our capabilities and preparing.
