Traditional Arab Kurash Championship was held in Beirut, Lebanon.
Representatives of seven member countries of the Arab Kurash Union participated in the championship. The nine participating teams from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Egypt and Lebanon competed for the victory. The intense and uncompromising fights were led by a team of about fifteen experienced referees headed by IKA referees Andre Mechlab and Haidar Jawad from Iraq.

In the end, in terms of medal accumulation, the hosts were outmatched. The Lebanese team took the lead with 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals. The athletes from Iraq took hold of the second place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. Syria’s team finished third with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
