Kurash coaches are at the center of our attention!
Shuhrat Arslanov is a Head Coach of Chinese Taipei Kurash National Team
I am Shuhrat Arslanov. I think most Kurash fans know me well. I was born in 1988 in Guzor district of Kashkadarya region, Uzbekistan. My childhood was simple like all children’s. I entered the world of Kurash when I was 9 years old. First, I was admitted to the Kurash club, then to the Kurash class of the sports school in our district.
Fairly, it was difficult at first. Training early in the morning without getting enough sleep, running, working out, and training until afternoon. In the second part of the day Exercises and practise on the gilam.
Difficulties makes a person durable. Not only he will become stronger, but his will, will be strengthened even more. The fact that your family and loved ones believe that you will become a strong athlete in the future is a great responsibility.
I wrestled for 20 years from the age of 9 to 29. I won a lot of prizes in the “kurash at the Weddings” and Events. There were many cars among my prizes.
I became a champion of Uzbekistan 12 times in professional sport. I won 2 times the world championship, 2 times the Asian championships. I won many times international tournaments for the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
I also won prestigious competitions in Judo, Sambo and other combat martial arts.
These achievements I owe the people, who believed in me, helped and supported me, my parents and relatives who always believed in me.
2017 was a happy and a sad year in my life. Firstly, in February, I became a champion of Uzbekistan in the championship of Uzbekistan in Karshi in the 90 kg category among adults.
In May, I won the prize in Al Hakim at Termizi international tournament.
In September, I won the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games hosted by Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Moreover, in December, I became the World Champion at the Senior World Kurash Championship held in Istanbul.
At the end of the competition, I finished my sports career due to health problems.
It was really hard. However, the management of the Uzbekistan Federation supported me and offered me to coach the youth national team of Uzbekistan.
For several years, I coached the youth national team of the homeland of Kurash. Many of my students became Asian champions and won international tournaments.
I am glad that my efforts were not fruitless.
This is my second time coaching the Chinese Taipei team. I also worked here for a while in 2018.
I have been in Taipei again since the beginning of this year. Recent years Kurash has been developing in Chinese Taipei. We can see it in the current competitions and the achievements of the national team in international competitions.
Together with the team, we developed a yearly program. Team members are strong and professional. So the results of the team we expected.
First, in early April, we participated in the Hangzhou Asian Championship and achieved the expected result. We won 1gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medal. Almost half of the team members won medals.
In addition, one female member won a prize in WSP competition and permission to participate in final games.
We organized a training camp several times during the year. We conducted large training sessions with athletes in several regions of the country.
In the Asian Games, there was a little lack of luck. We won one bronze medal. Actually, participating in such big competitions is a big achievement. But Chinese Taipei is not the former team. Nowadays, Chinese Taipei Kurash athletes are becoming a serious opponent for any team.
We are about to start preparing for the World championships these days. We are aware that huge preparations are being made for the World Kurash Championship held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Our team is preparing accordingly.
I believe that the World Championships will be held at a high level. Athletes from Chinese Taipei will also achieve high results.
