Vittorio Giorgi. President of the Italian Kurash Federation
The Italian Kurash Federation was established 9 years ago. I became interested in kurash when I worked as an honorary consul of Uzbekistan in Caserta. After that, I decided to promote kurash in Italy in cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
You know, Uzbekistan is not an ordinary country for me, but it is a part of my life.
As a civil lawyer, expert, international relations, and sports manager, I know sports very well. Kurash is older and more attractive than any other sport. For this reason, kurash is one of the most important activities for me.
Since 2015, we have been conducting kurash coaching and refereeing seminars almost every year as part of our events.
On October 10-12 this year, we will organize one of the most important kurash events.
For the first time, the European Kurash Championship will take place at the Olympic Martial Arts Sports Center in Rome.
This sports complex is one of the most prestigious sports facilities not only in Italy but also in Europe.
This complex, which has seating for over 1500 spectators, has the most modern sports standards.
The judo, jiu-jitsu, and karate World and European championships took place there at the time, as well.
We are working hard for what will be the biggest kurash event in Europe.
We have 3 competitions. The first is the World Serious Pro (WSP) for the President of Uzbekistan Prize; the second is the European Kurash Championship and the Italian Kurash Championship. We also have refereeing and coaching seminars.
Many participants from all over Europe come to Rome with important goals. This is a huge project, a big event.
I would like to express my gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for his support in introducing kurash to the world, especially to Europe. In addition, I am pleased to thank the International Kurash Association, the International Kurash Institute, and the National Federation of Uzbekistan for their friendly cooperation with our Italian Federation.
I am very happy and proud to be a part of the Kurash family in the international arena.
I believe that the relations between Uzbekistan and my country, Italy, will become stronger thanks to Kurash.
