This year, on August 22–29, the Pan American Kurash Union organizes a traditional international Kurash week.
Many events, seminars, and championships are planned to be held within the context of International Kurash Week . First, the Pan American Open Championship in Kurash will announce its winners. In the championship, women (-48, -52, -57, -63, -70, -78, -87, and +87 kg) and Men (-60, -66, -73, -81, -90, -100, and +100 kg) will try their best in their weight categories. On the next day of the week, seminars for Kurash referees and coaches will begin. Seminar participants will also take part inthe IKA exams until the end of the week. High-scoring contestants have the opportunity to obtain a B license for coaching and a 1-star Kurash referee license. Also, a continental championship in beach Kurash will be organized as part of the weekly program. These events are held in cooperation with the International Kurash Association, the Pan-American Kurash Union, the International Kurash Institute, and the Dominican Kurash Federation. Since this year, the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan has joined the organizers of the Kurash week. The Pan-American qualifying round of the World Series Pro tournament is organized and financed in cooperation with the Uzbekistan Kurash Federation. The World Series Pro (WSP) tournament gold medalist will be awarded $1,500, the silver medalist $750, and the bronze medalist $500. The winners of 1-2 positions will receive a ticket to participate in the World Series Pro (WSP) Final stage in Tashkent in the month of November. Currently, the Pan-American Kurash Union is developing an organizational program that includes transportation, food, lodging, accreditations, training and competition places, security, and other important issues.
