Every year on July 24, it is becoming a tradition to organize a big kurash festival in Paris, France.
On this day, the strongest athletes of not only the old continent but also the world compete at the base of the Eiffel Tower, which has become a symbol of love and dreams.
In addition to watching intense and attractive completions held in honor of the prestigious Kurash holiday, they will also enjoy Uzbek culture, art, and, of course, national handicraft exhibitions.
And so it was this year. Representatives from about 20 countries of the world took part in the international tournament for the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was included in the calendar of the International Kurash Association.
As expected, the kurash matches were fierce and uncompromising. Not only the world champions but also famous athletes from other sports, participants of the Olympic Games, and the best athletes found incomparably in the continent and the world came to the gilam to take part.
Mukhsin Khisomiddinov, a four-time kurash world champion, two-time Asian champion, and winner of the Asian Games, was able to add the triumph of the Paris tournament to his career.
In the semifinal match, he defeated Serbian athlete, Aleksandar Kalabic from Serbia who is well known to Kurash fans. Last year, he was considered unmatched in the absolute weight category of the international tournament for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan prize held in Frankfurt, Germany. On June 30 of this year, he took home the silver medal at the European Open Championship held in Poland.
In the final match, Mukhsin Khisomidddinov, who overcame Viktors Resco, the winner of the European Open Championship, returned to Tashkent with a gold medal and a cash prize of 3000.
Debates between women were more interesting. Jasmin Grabowski from Germany defeated Elena Kebadze from Georgia in the final and won the Paris tournament.
Bianca-Elena Prodan from Romania and Sitora Khusanova from the country of kurash were awarded bronze medals.
On the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France, the organization of the cultural events took place within the tournament. Famous stars of Uzbek art gave the participants a real holiday mood and a festive atmosphere with their songs.
Mansur Mirzaev, the head of the IKA Administration, attended these events and held many meetings on the further development of kurash in France and the strengthening of further cooperation relations.
