Four months have passed since the Mexican Kurash Federation was established. However, kurash sections are being organized in sports clubs in many regions of the country due to the efforts of the federation officials.
The Ministry of Sports of the country and other official organizations have created collaborative relationships to promote kurash.
On July 30th of this year, the Mexican Kurash Federation will organize the Mexican Open Kurash Tournament at the Lagunilla sports complex in the Honduran sector of the country’s capital.
According to the President of the Federation, Juan Jose Cruz Santillan, this tournament is being held for the first in the history of Mexican Kurash since its official formation.
Competitions are organized for Seniors in 15 weight categories. To date, athletes from the country’s states of Mexico, Tlaxcala, and Puebla, as well as sports clubs such as San Luis Potosí, National Polytechnic Institute, and National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) have submitted applications for participation.
