The Fifth International Symposium on Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) was held by the World Anti-Doping Agency from May 31 to June 2 this year in Incheon, Korea.
The TUE is an important part of the anti-doping program that allows athletes to participate in high-level sports competitions.
The critical arguments and debates held at the symposia have been instrumental in improving the system and ensuring global coherence despite regional diversity.
Complex TUE cases were investigated through interactive case studies involving medical professionals and legal experts.
Presentations by professors representing the most prestigious sports medicine research institute in the world were organized at the symposium.
Dr Joo Hee Park, head of the International Kurash Association’s Medical and Anti-Doping Committee, also participated in the symposium.
For your information, the International Kurash Association has been a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency since 2010. During the past period, many projects and events were carried out on the basis of the “Kurash Without Doping” Program.
Since this year, this project has gained global significance, and regular online seminars on Anti-doping are being organized in cooperation with WADA and ITA.
