On July 7-13, a big Kurash festival will be organized for the first time in the Land of Miracles.
Cairo will host the African continental Senior, Cadet, Junior Kurash championships, and the World Series Pro Kurash qualifier tournament.
These competitions, which are organized in cooperation with the International Kurash Association, the African Kurash Union, the Egyptian Kurash Committee, the Egyptian National Olympic Committee, UKF and the Government of Republic of the Uzbekistan, will feature the continent’s top athletes.
Kurash competitions are planned to be organized in the largest and most modern indoor sports complex of Cairo “Complex Heliopolis”. This complex was completed and commissioned in 1991 and consists of 4 closed complexes. 16,000-seat football hall the complex has served to host to a lot of international matches within the framework of FIFA.
According to the program of the competition, a meeting of the Board of the African Kurash Union will be held on July 7. Judging and coaching seminars and exams will start on July 8.
On July 9-11, the African Championship between seniors and juniors will be held.
On July 12, the World Series Pro tournament for the prize of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will determine its winners.
For your information: The Egyptian Kurash Committee was established in 2022 and was accepted as a member at the next IKA Congress held in Pune this year.
It is the first significant international Kurash event to be held in Egypt.
