The national teams of Uzbekistan, Iran and Korea took the top three in the number of medals at the World Senior Kurash Championship, held in the Indian city of Pune.
President of the International Kurash Association, Director General of the Asian Games of the Olympic Council of Asia Mr. Haider Farman sent congratulations to the presidents of the Kurash federations of these countries.
In his congratulation Mr. Farman wrote the following words:
“On behalf of the International Kurash Association and the Organizing Committee of the World Senior Kurash Championship, held in Pune, as well as the world Kurash family and the official authorities, I congratulate your national team on the victory.
This achievement once again proves the high performance of your country’s athletes and the great work of the kurash Federation, which you lead.”
Yesterday, in connection with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the official opening ceremony of the Prosecutor General’s Cup competition organized by the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, IKA First Vice-President Adkham Ikramov solemnly read out this congratulation.
The congratulatory letter was handed by the Minister to the Nigmatilla Yuldoshev Chairman of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the Secretary General of the International Kurash Association Mohammad Reza Nassiri and the head of the IKA administration Mansur Mirzayev.
3500 people from all regions of Uzbekistan took part in the event.
As a note at the XIII World Senior Kurash Championship in Pune India, athletes of Uzbekistan took first place with 7 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in total.
