Global Association of International Sports Federations in Lausanne, Switzerland
(GAISF) held an extraordinary General Assembly.
At the General Assembly, GAISF members voted to dissolve the organization.

The message states:
Members of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) today approved the dissolution of the organization at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the GISF held at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne.
GAISF’s dissolution was recommended by the GAISF Council and members voted 70 in favor of dissolution to 22 against. Voting was conducted through Lumi’s secure voting system under the control of an independent Swiss notary.
Ivo Ferriani, president of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), believes that the dissolution of the umbrella body at the extraordinary General Assembly of the organization is a “step towards a better future” for the world of sports.
The Swiss firm Ernst and Young SA has been appointed liquidator to carry out the liquidation of GAISF, which was established in 1967.
Financial shares of the organization are distributed to international sports organizations that are members of GAISF through the International Olympic Committee.
