A press conference was held at the headquarters of the IKA with the participation of Haider Farman, President of the International Kurash Association, General director of the Asian Games of the Olympic Council of Asia.
– The inclusion of kurash in the program of Olympic Games is the dream of all of us. Olympics – it will not be easy. It has many requirements. But, our goal is clear. The kurash will definitely be an official member of the Olympic family. We cooperate with a huge number of sports structures in this work.
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan, personally to the excellency President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorary President of the International Kurash Association Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The kurash with the support of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is developing at a new stage.
Recently I had a constructive and fruitful conversation on the inclusion of kurash in the African Games program. Our discussions on the inclusion of kurash in the European Youth Games program continue. For information, on December 8 of this year I will meet with the officilas of the European Olympic Committee in Lausanne and discuss above issues.
We have a positive agreement on inclusion of Kurash in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games. The official participation of the kurash in the next Islamic Solidarity Games is planned.
Kurash is an honest sport, there is also honesty in its idea. Another important note: Kurash is the value of the Uzbek people for many years. We ensure that the terminology and In 2025 Tashkent will host the prestigious Asian Youth Games for the first time.
I would like to inform you that the kurash will take part in these games fully, in all weight categories.
