The press conference was attended by the President of the International Kurash Association, the General director of the Asian Games of the Olympic Council of Asia Haider Farman, the Vise president of the International Kurash Association, the Chairman of the Board of the National media Association of Uzbekistan Sherzodkhon Kuhratkhoja and the Secretary General of the Association Mohammad Reza Nassiri.
Mr.Farman gave detailed information about the development of the kurash in the international arena, the World Kurash Senior Championship, which is scheduled to take place this year:
From November 23 to 28, 2022, the XIII World Senior Kurash Championship and the XIX Congress of the International Kurash Association will be held in Pune, India.
The strongest kurash athletes from about 70 countries within the IKA will participate in this championship.
The Congress of the International Kurash Association will be held as part of the championship. At the congress, the official introduction of kurash to international sports games, the rules of refereeing and coaching of kurash, the procedure for organizing competitions, the problems that have arisen in the development of kurash in the world, the admission of national federations within the IKA, the suspension of membership and many other issues will be considered.
During the conference, it was announced that the President of the IKA reached an agreement with the President of the Association of African National Olympic Committees, Mustafa Berraf, on the inclusion of kurash in the Program of the African Games.
This fact is a historical event in the way of wide development of our beloved sport kurash, on the African continent.
Also, negotiations were held with the members of the European Olympic Committee, and preliminary agreements were made to include kurash in the program of the European Youth Games. The practical stage of negotiations on this issue continues.
It should be noted that the continental games are the second most prestigious sports event after the Olympic Games. The official inclusion of kurash in the Continental Games Program is important for its future inclusion in the Olympic Games Program.
