The IKA media team continues to present interviews of the participants of the World Championship

We have activated kurash in Malaysia in 2017. At the end of September of the same year, our national federation was registrated. First, we introduced kurash to sports clubs engaged in martial arts. We conduct classes on kurash and thereby strengthen ties with clubs. In 2018, the Technical Director of the International Kurash Association agreed to hold a coaching and refereeing seminar for Malaysia. From year to year we are working to popularize kurash in the country.
Participation in the World Championship is, of course, a great opportunity to experiment and learn from the best athletes. We use our opportunities to the maximum. 2 male and 2 female athletes and a coach will take part in the World Championship from Malaysia.
The World Championship in Pune requires a high level of preparation. We must admit that our Association strives to take a worthy part in it. If our athletes achieve high results, it will be a great achievements for the development of kurash in Malaysia.
We have a lot of work to do. The difficulties we face are mainly related to the constant training of athletes. First, some athletes have to work and study. Second, lack of international experience. Third, the presence of financial problems. Regardless of any championship, until we win a gold medal, our Ministry of Sports will not support our Association. On the other hand, any national federations face financial difficulties due to the lack of State support.
We have close ties with the International Kurash Association. Participation in the World Championship gives us a lot. First, advantages of participation is that – we will be live participants of the championship and second, we can gain experience in organizing and managing sports events.
Our coaches and athletes should pay attention to the style of other strong athletes. Currently, our team is actively training.
I wish success to all the athletes at the World Championships in Pune. I believe that the championship is waiting for us with full of great excitements and pleasure.
