22nd of October was the National Korean Kurash Selection for Senior World championships India , where around 100 athletes from Korea gathered in Changju for this selection. Present were Vice President of the International Kurash Association Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov and IKA General secretary / Technical Director Reza Nassiri, and Korean Officials.
During the opening ceremony speech by IKA Vice President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, all athletes lined up, he said I am so surprised to see our national Sport become so popular that we see an Army (actual words) of Athletes all dressed in unified Yakhtaks here, I am so proud that our Kurash is developing which is now known Internationally all over the world especially in Korea so well and so many people are interested in this beautiful sport.
He went on to thank the organizers, athletes, coach and referees for being so professional in the work. As a Korean tradition, besides diplomas and medal, Rice Bags are given to medalists.
Korea will participate with a large team at the Senior World championships, in Pune 23-28 Nov 2022.
