On 2 October, an international online seminar was organized for referees of Central African kurash federations of Tanzania, Togo, Nigeria, Angola, Niger, Mali, Benin and Ghana at the sports complex of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan.
This seminar serves to improve the training of kurash referees before the World Kurash Championship, which will be held in Puna, India on November 23-28 this year, and to ensure the successful participation of representatives of the African continent in the world championship.
Also, based on the current calendar plan of the African Kurash Union, it was organized in order to thoroughly prepare for the African Junior Kurash Championship, which will be held in Congo in December, and to further improve the knowledge and skills of kurash referees and experts in order to hold competitions at a high level.
In the opening part of the seminar, the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kasimov, the First Deputy Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shakhrullo Mahmudov, the General Secretary of the IKA Mr. Muhammad Reza Nassiri Nejad, the Head of the International Kurash Association Mansur Mirzaev, the Rector of the International Kurash Institute, Associate Professor Habibulla Tadjiev, as well as IKI Education teachers of the department, international referees – Kim Eurjung, Shuhrat Keldiyorov, Akrom Abdulahatov and IKI officials and media representatives participated.
During this international online seminar, the rules of refereeing in kurash were fully taught in practical and multimedia form. At the end of the seminar, the participants received full answers to all their questions from IKI specialists.
More than 100 kurash experts from kurash federations of Central African countries participated in the seminar through the ZOOM platform.
