On February 9 of this year, an international online training seminar on the rules and guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was held for kurash coaches and international experts of more than 130 kurash federations within the International Kurash Association in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The ceremony of signing a memorandum of agreement between the International Kurash Institute and the National Anti-Doping Agency took place within the seminar.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, UzNADA – the National Anti-Doping Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the leadership of the International Kurash Association, the International Kurash Institute, responsible employees and media representatives took part in this event.
At the event, through the ZOOM platform, the head of the IKA anti-doping committee – Dr. Joo Hye Pak, coaches and specialists of national federations within IKA participated.
It is known that honesty, transparency, compliance with established procedures, including the World Anti-Doping Rules, are important for achieving high results in sports.
In 2010, the International Kurash Association officially adopted the rules and requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code. IKA follows the rules and guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in the fight against doping in sports.
At the event, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Shakhrillo Makhmudov noted that due to the great attention paid to sports in our country, the high results achieved by our athletes are recognized by prestigious international sports organizations.
– The results obtained in recent years have further strengthened the position of our country in the world sports ranking. Of course, these achievements are achieved through honest and fair victories. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports Affairs of Uzbekistan is doing important work in this regard, – said Shakhrillo Makhmumov.
In order to effectively implement a unified state policy in the field of preventing doping in sports and combating doping, to ensure compliance with the requirements of the International Convention on Combating Doping in Sports, the World Anti-Doping Code and other international anti-doping standards, as well as taking into account the recommendations and suggestions of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the National Anti-Doping Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers is effectively serving Uzbek athletes to achieve new goals.
The main purpose of the seminar is to inform the coaches and experts of national federations within the IKA about anti-doping rules and instructions, to organize training seminars on anti-doping rules before important sports competitions, as well as to further strengthen the mutual cooperation between the International Kurash Institute and the National Anti-Doping Agency, and to effectively conduct issues related to the field.
The memorandum of agreement signed between UzNADA and IKI implements cooperation in the way of achieving victory in kurash sports only by honest means.
It is worth mentioning that, during its activities, the International Kurash Institute, in addition to improving the qualifications of kurash coaches, referees and specialists of international kurash federations within the IKA, preparing the necessary educational and methodological manuals, textbooks, conducting scientific research, regular training sessions and offline international seminars and has been focusing on organizing online.
In the second and main part of the event organized by the initiative of the Institute – Anti-doping online training-seminar, a presentation was held on the current problems of combating doping, the medical, social and legal consequences of doping in society, and then there was an exchange of opinions on the topic.
UzNADA experts provided foreign kurash coaches and specialists with information on anti-doping rules news, prohibited substances, testing procedures, investigation of anti-doping rule violations, as well as information on processing results and holding hearings on violation facts.
In the future, it is planned to organize the next international anti-doping online educational seminar with the participation of athletes.
