Preparations for the Kurash competitions at the 20th Asian Games are entering their final stage.
International Kurash Association (IKA) Secretary General Mohammad Reza Nassiri and IKA President’s Adviser Umid Yakubov visited the sports complex in Aichi, Japan, where the Kurash competitions will be held, to inspect the preparations and review the venue and ongoing organizational work.
The delegation was accompanied by Hideo Kamaga, President of the Japan Kurash Federation, and representatives of the Organizing Committee of the 20th Asian Games.
The sports complex is currently hosting the Wushu competitions as part of the Asian Games programme. Taking this opportunity, the delegation inspected the main competition arena, training areas for athletes, waiting halls, as well as other technical and organizational facilities.
Following the inspection, the Organizing Committee representatives were presented with a number of recommendations and proposals aimed at ensuring the Kurash competitions are organized to a high standard and creating more convenient conditions for athletes and officials.
As a reminder, Kurash competitions at the 20th Asian Games will be held from 27 to 29 September at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall. The continent’s strongest Kurash athletes will step onto the Kurash Gilam for the title of Asian Games champion.
