The African Kurash Union in cooperation with the Kurash Federation of the Republic of Congo and with the help from the IKA successfully hosted the 14th African senior Kurash championships in the capital of the Republic of Congo — Brazzaville.
The African Kurash Union, founded in 2000, was once of the first continental Kurash unions of the IKA to host its own continental Kurash championships.
As of today, the African Kurash championships among seniors and juniors were held in countries like the Republic of South Africa, Morocco, Mozambique, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo, and now in the Republic of Congo.
The African Kurash championships competition was held in one of the main and newly built sport venues of Brazzaville called “Gymnase Nicole Oba” and was watched by more than one thousand five hundred local spectator and many media outlets of the Republic of Congo.
The championships were concluded with the one day training camp organized by the African Kurash Union and the Kurash Federation of the Republic of Congo for the players and coaches who came to compete to Brazzaville from around Africa.
